Dried Cranberries

Dried cranberries like fresh ones are a bit on the sour side, so are usually soaked in sugared water before drying. This not only makes them taste nicer but help retain the colour too. Looking like red or red-brown raisins, the berries are sometimes coated in a little oil to keep them from sticking. They can be eaten as a snack or incorporated into other foods such as cereal.
