Charentais
The Charentais melon, is a type of cantaloupe, with a pale green and warty skin, lightly grooved in dark green from top to bottom. The fragrant flesh inside is always deep orange in colour, with seeds deep inside. The vines with large hairy leaves originated in Africa and India and thrive in warm climates. They can be sold with or with the stem attached. Charentais are a great source of vitamins A, C and potassium.
